The rain started early this morning.

​I was in no hurry to leave the comforts of the tent (was out wandering the headlands until 1 AM) so I waited for the late-morning lull. 

After a hot cup of coffee I hung around camp for a few hours, rearranging rain protection and reading. Then I went for a hike.

It was a little windy, but still a good day to explore some of Oregon's western-most point. 

Winter is in full-force out here for the first time in years: lots of wind, rain and snow (wettest December in 10 years), and multiple stretches with low temperatures well below freezing. 

Saturday was clear(ish) and (relatively) warm so I made the trek down to the beach for the last few minutes of light, and the hour or so that followed.

Feeling festive, I donned a strand of battery-powered lights and did my best impression of a Christmas tree.
